Hi :) I’m Clara, a freelance illustrator from Volterra, Italy.

I graduated in Psychology and specialized in Cultural Anthropology, but I never abandoned my passion for illustration. During university studies I attended an illustration course at NEMO Academy in Firenze and I’ve always collaborated with my parents’ etching workshop in Volterra making my personal projects. My secret dream slowly came true and now I work as illustrator.

My main focus are children's books, but I enjoy working editorial illustration too.

Immersing myself in the imaginary of children is for me a way to relive and express all that freedom, warmth and wonder of my infancy. I also love working with metaphors and dive in symbolic and deep worlds .

I mix digital and analog, I like imperfection and freshness in the line and I look for evocative colored atmospheres. I mainly use colored pencils, charcoals and watercolor.

If you would like to work with me just send me an email or give me a call, I’ll be happy to get in touch :)!
